Some links about Writing and Publishing

Here are some websites to check out:

v  Justaboutwrite.com : Run by Nann Dunne, a longtime writer and fan of lesbian fiction, it gets updated fairly frequently, but not always correctly. There is, however, a long list of publishing houses on it, as well as calls for submissions, articles on writing, and conference information.

v  Readtheselips.com : A great list of publishers both lesbian friendly and friendly in general.

http://www.erotica-readers.com: A GREAT place for calls for submissions for short erotica pieces. The main publishers use it, as well as the smaller presses.

v  Mslexia.com : a great writing magazine for women, they often have contests, information on lit festivals and calls for submissions.

http://www.arvonfoundation.org : a foundation dedicated to writing, to writers and to getting the best work out of a writer. They run classes all summer long in England Wales and Scotland, and it’s a great way to take time out of your busy life to write and get feedback at the same time. They also offer grants and stipends for those who can’t afford their courses.

v   This is a great resource page, with everything from complaint letters to synopses. How to Write

v  There are also plenty of basic writing websites on craft. Writing Magazine (writersnews.com and Writers Forum (writers-forum.com) are both available at WH Smiths here in Nottingham and they have a good selection of writing articles, calls for submissions, challenges and contests.

v  I always have trouble finding calls for submissions, so here are a few to check out if you’re looking for somewhere to submit:
